FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
January 22, 2004

At tonight's Cary Town Council meeting, the council will consider re- approving a resolution to include the Southeast area (the same area plus more that was a part of the resolution of intent to annex before the Christmas holidays) to be a part of Cary's Extra Territorial Jurisdiction (ETJ).

Also under possible consideration is the re newel of the Resolution of Consideration for the Medfield Estates Area.

Under Wake County Guide Lines, a municipality requesting an ETJ needs to state that they expect to annex the area within the next ten years.

The Resolution of Consideration must be renewed by April 11, 2004 or the Town of Cary must start over it's aggression to take over Medfield Estates and other Areas include in that resolution.

THE RESIDENTS OF THE AFFECTED AREAS OVERWHELMINGLY DO NOT WANT TO BE A PART OF CARY!

A petition has been submitted to the Town Clerk of Cary for distribution to the Town Councilors and Mayor. That petition includes over 1000 signatures from areas that do not want to be annexed by the Town of Cary.

We expect hundreds of people who surround Cary will be in attendance of tonight's meeting. People from the Southeast Area, Swift Creek Area, Medfield Estates Area, and the Chatham County Area are joining forces to say no to the Town of Cary's continued aggression of forced annexation.

Tonight's meeting starts at 6:30 PM at the Cary Town Hall.
